As autumn approaches, the days become cooler and the leaves begin to change color. The year is nearly over, but business is preparing to ramp up. The busy holiday shopping months are right around the corner! It’s time to start thinking about your business and how to best capitalize on the increase in activity. It’s time to consider a gift and/or loyalty card program from Electronic Merchant Systems (EMS). Gift card programs lead to profits for businesses not only by increasing their reach to new customers when gift cards are given as gifts, but 75% of consumers spend more than 60% of the original worth of the gift card, which means that $50 gift card is likely to lead to an $80 transaction. Loyalty programs yield even bigger gains for businesses. Companies with a loyalty program increase same store sales by 4.5%, increase retention by 14%, and average purchase and visits by 24%! These are numbers you can’t afford to ignore. Statistics aside, EMS’ Altus Premier Program has everything you need. Presents: Is It Time to Upgrade Your IT Infrastructure? And, If So, How?
Simplex-IT’s next free Lunchinar will answer these frequently asked questions and in doing so help businesses of all sizes better understand how to keep up with today’s rapidly changing technology. This presentation (from Simplex-IT’s Bob Coppedge and Kevin Dutkiewicz) will focus more on the network and less on your workstations: server hardware and software, firewalls, routers, new emerging technologies, etc. Older components can hamper your system – parts and support may be hard to come by, compatibility with newer software can arise, security may be compromised, and you may be spending more to maintain your older equipment than if you upgraded. If you are involved with the maintenance and management of your company’s IT infrastructure this is a Must Attend Event. Join Simplex-IT at Hattie’s Café, 164 N. Main St., Hudson on Wednesday October 19, from 11:30am-1:00pm for a free lunch, networking with other business owners and professionals and stimulating conversation. Seating is limited, so please RSVP to John@SImplex-IT.com or by calling 234.380.1277. We’ll see you there!

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) has just processed the first 12 month refund adjustment for CareWorks Consultants’ 2009 Group Retrospective Rating Program. For the 36 employers participating in this OH&LA Group Retro Program, the refund total is $569,568.12 which represents a 49.7% refund of the employers’ total paid standard premiums. We are pleased to announce that as a result of our very selective, conservative underwriting approach, the program has outperformed our initial offering of premium savings by 50%. Currently, CareWorks Consultants projects that the total 3 year OH&LA program refund will exceed $633,150 which is over 55% of the group’s standard premium. This first 12 month refund of $455,654.50 represents 72% of the projected 3 year refund. We are projecting an additional 19% or $120,400 refund a year from now and the projected third and final 9% refund of $57,100 is expected to be processed in August 2013. CareWorks Consultants is inviting employers to be evaluated for the upcoming July 1, 2012 Group Retrospective Rating Policy Year. We believe that the information above reflects the quality financial results your company can achieve by participating in one of our Group Retro Programs. For some employers, participation in group retrospective rating is more beneficial than participation in traditional group rating.
