Simplex – IT
When Do You Know Your IT is Obsolete? The Windows XP computer you bought in late 2001 still seems to work fine. Sure, it takes 15 minutes to fully boot up in the morning, but that’s ok. It gives you time to get a cup of coffee! And your Office 2003 programs are still functional even though they lack the advanced features of more current versions. Why think about upgrading? If these performance issues aren’t enough to give you pause, consider this. On April 8, 2014 Microsoft will officially discontinue support for Windows XP and Office 2003. This has important ramifications because as new security vulnerabilities are discovered past that date, they will no longer receive patches. This could mean big problems for organizations of any size. Staying current with technology is an ongoing challenge. More importantly, the primary question is how do you know when it’s time to upgrade? That’s the question we will attempt to answer at Simplex-IT’s next free Lunchinar: “When Do You Know Your IT is Obsolete?” Whether you’re a business owner or IT pro, you will want to be part of this conversation. Simplex-IT’s popular monthly Lunchinars are always free, open to all and focused on sharing information. And, as a bonus, we will be awarding a door prize of Microsoft Office 2013 and Windows 8 to two lucky attendees. Free food AND free software – how awesome is that? As always, there will be plenty of time for questions.
Where: Hattie’s Café, 164 N. Main Street, Hudson

Electronic Merchant Systems
In the world of payment processing, security is paramount. I’m sure you’ve seen the news lately, it seems you can’t go more than a few weeks without hearing about another big data breach where customer’s credit card info has been compromised. To combat this, the Payment Card Industry, or PCI for short, has set into place a set of regulations and standards designed to maximize security and protect both customers and merchants alike. Failure to become compliant doesn’t just put your customers at risk, it endangers your business. The fees associated with a breach are staggering and often times leave merchants with no other choice than to shut their doors permanently. Call Adrien Coluccio today to learn more about your business’ compliance: 216.287.0081 www.emscorporate.com/CuyahogaFalls

Secretary of State Jon Husted
For the first time in Ohio, you can start and manage your business online.
Secretary of State Jon Husted announced that the most frequently used business forms from his office can now be completed online. This will help both streamline and simplify the submission process to start a business and to manage required filings throughout a businesses’ lifecycle. Forms now available include:
- Forming a limited liability company in Ohio;
- Renewals for trade and fictitious names;
- Biennial reports for professional associations and limited liability partnerships; and,
- Statements of continued existence for nonprofit corporations.
These forms represent approximately 50 percent of all filings received by the Secretary of State’s office in 2012. Businesses can file electronically via the Secretary of State’s Ohio Business Central online, at www.OhioSecretaryofState.gov, after creating a profile to access the secure site. Once logged in, users can select from the available options, provide payment for filing fees and manage their account. The online system allows businesses to complete the submission process, from start to finish, in less than one day in some cases. By utilizing technology to improve the services available from the Secretary of State’s office, Ohio is now in position to roll out the red carpet to business and job creation by cutting the red tape.
Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce | COSE
Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce and COSE offer dual membership opportunity. Through a special joint membership agreement, businesses in Cuyahoga Falls can now join both organizations and save up to 50 percent on what it would have cost to join each separately. Area businesses can now not only tap into valuable resources and exposure opportunities in their local communities, but also access the regional/national reach, buying power and government advocacy efforts of COSE and its more than 14,000 members. “Aligning with COSE is a win-win for everybody,” says Cuyahoga Falls Chamber chief executive officer, Laura Petrella. “Chamber membership offers local community involvement and networking opportunities. COSE broadens that scope. Members who take advantage of our cost-saving programs will also enjoy a return on their membership investment dollars.” “Local chambers and COSE have always had one common goal—helping businesses succeed,” said Steve Millard, president and executive director at COSE. “Together we’ll be able to provide a full package to help area businesses thrive.” “The Cuyahoga Falls Chamber helps us stay connected and grow our business locally while COSE has helped us make an impact and build connections throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond,” says Nevin Bansal, president and CEO of Outreach Promotional Solutions and a member of both organizations. “The support and savings programs have helped us better achieve our top-line and bottom-line goals. In our opinion, almost any business can benefit from being a member of both organizations.” This partnership will be the second (Hudson Chamber of Commerce) in the Summit County area and will open up many new opportunities for small business owners in the Cuyahoga Falls community. Business owners can get more information on this new joint membership opportunity by either contacting the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber at 330.929.6756 (email@example.com ) or COSE at 216.592.2355 (firstname.lastname@example.org )
